Cleansing, is of course, the first step in your beauty routine.  Without this nothing else will work properly.

We have come a long way since old-fashioned soap and water.

Remove Eye Make Up. The first thing you will want to do is remove your make-up if your are wearing it.  Gently remove eye-make up either with our eye-make up remover or with our detoxifying cleanser, both of which are great.  The detoxifying cleanser is probably stronger for things like waterproof mascara.  Massage gently around the eye area and then wipe of with a cotton pad or soft tissue.

Remove foundation:  If using our detoxifying cleanser continue now to massage this all over the rest of the face and neck.  Wipe off residue again and then using one of our warm, damp muslin cloths continue to remove the remaining excess.  If using any of our other cleansers, like our foaming cleanser or Purifying Cleanser or our Ultra-Radiance Cleanser, follow the instructions for these. Using a muslin cloth with all of these too will give a very gentle exfoliating effect and help with the proper cleansing of the face.

Washing:  In addition to removing makeup, washing your face removes excess buildup that can occur throughout the day like pollutants, oils, and debris. In the morning too you may have a build up of oil.  To wash your face effectively, use lukewarm water to open pores. Water that is too hot or too cold can irritate the skin. Then apply cleanser in a circular motion. Make sure you rinse cleanser completely from your skin. Giving one extra rinse will help to further remove any remaining debris. After washing, pat, don’t rub your skin dry. Patting is gentler to your delicate facial skin.

Exfoliate:  Ideally this should be done 2-3 times a week. Your body is producing new skins cells all day, every day. Your body naturally sheds dead skin cells, but some of them do not shed as completely as they should, which can lead to skin irritation and clogged pores  This is where exfoliation helps.  Our Gentle facial exfoliator is ideal for the work as it takes off the dead skin cells without abrading the skin.  Remember again to rinse very thoroughly.

Now don’t forget your organic moisturiser or night cream!
